Slept 14 hrs. had bowl of cereal, 5 cookies and a big piece of cake currently sitting on the couch. I'm convinced now more then ever that Excercise will kill you. I have never sat on the couch and coughed up blood.

Redbowofdl posted: I went to fight practice last night and one of the peers gave me some suggestions of what not to make for largesse (candles and oil lamps are too messy) and said that the sewing pouch I was making was too nice for largesse. Too nice for largesse? It had not even occurred to me that something could be too nice for largesse. I thought that the upper limit on quality was dependent on how much time I was willing to put into an item rather than it being too good. Then I starting thinking that maybe I had made an incorrect assumption that things the crown would like for largesse would also be appropriate for baronial largesse. All the upcoming crown events this year are far away from here and so I don't think I will be going to any of them but fortunately nothing I have prepared is perishable.
I am the peer and what I said when she showed me her fantastic nail binding pouches was how wonderful they were and what wonderful largess they would be.. Then she said she might add a wooden needle, wooden thimble and some other nice items. I mentioned there was no need to spend a bunch of money. somehow this got translated into something else. Largess is whatever you wish to give. I think your nail binding pouches are amazing and would be more then happy to receive or be in the position to give to someone else on your behalf.

Wow. What an amazing time and I want to put right up front how touched I have been by Those at the event and those in LJ and Email.
Too numerous are the well wishes and congratulations to personaly go thru each one but I promise to hug and smile with each of you as we see each other thru the new year.
Friday morning started out with Lilcincy calling asking if her and Talon could ride with us which started off the weekend on a great note. Nothing like spending quality time with such dear friends.
Fun, laughter and great times were had leading up to Wrenn and Owains last court preceded early December at Glymmear yule by the Queen asking me to help with a story. So when she asked me to help her again at 12th night I was honored and ecstatic to help. It was such a set up that I never saw coming but what fun I had doing it. The most memorable moment of the story came when the queen was feeding us lines from the book and I was being very naughty throwing a tantrum and Optimusprime was playing the King told me to put my Crown back on my head. When the Queen told me my next word was suposed to be no my brain locked on who I had to say no to and I was unable to for about 5 seconds and I shouted. I DON'T WANNA.. wich fed into the story great and I did not have to say NOooooo to someone I respeced so much.
She then called me forward and said some very pleasent things about me and gave me a forget me not. As I turned my head I noticed people on my right and a quick turn to the left and my brain is not slow. I knew exactly who these people were and what was going on. It was an honor to see the love and hear the comments from the speakers and then family and friends throughout the day.
As Brighid and I would walk together and someone would come up and say don't let this change you Brighid would mumble something about god help us. Someday maybee I will understand but until then if it isnt fun lets do it differently so it is.

| Fighting post |

I am still on a mini high from last night. I went to Glymm Mere fight practice and mini tournament. Sir Rifken (sp) got me inspired about a month ago to get back on my Pell and do some streatching and mind excercises. I have been working on paying attention more to defense and have the offense in the periferial. I tend to do great defense till a couple minutes into a fight when i start focusing on Offense and get clubed like a baby seal.
I was relaxed and in a good head space last night and warmed up with Sir Richard. He is so fun to just be around. We did slow to medium work for 15 or so min talking and streatching.
They had a grand Mele and I fought 4 of the 12 guys/gals and ended up winning it. I was extremly comfortable and breathing well owning my space. Was a great start to the evening.
I then focused on the tournament. My first fight was with Wilfred who has been in armor for about 5 months and was good warm up fight were he threw couple shots and then I threw a snap to the head. Next fight was against Oaken who fights with a long wippy great sword. we had 2 exchanges and I was able to pick everything up and get him out of posistion and throw a wrap.
Next fight was against Emelot and I was feeling extremly centered. I steped left while throwing a quick snap to the right catching her just above the shield. (pell practice was showing).
Next fight I forget his name but great Japaneese armor and fights with 5' axe in left hand and sword in right. He was small and agile. we fought for 4 or 5 min moving all over the field. While I lost the fight I was extremly happy with the over all fight. Good head space.
Next fight was semi finals against Sir Godrics squire and it was a great fight as well. Lots of exchanges in and out. I so enjoyed this fight because we both had one loss and the winner was going to the finals. There was laughter and sorrow the sorrow coming when he hit me upside the head.
I did pickups for another 1/2 hr then had to head home but it was a great tournout and a ton of fun.

This is my Journal and while it may not be popular I feel the need to post.
KBC Is a Kingdom Level event. Like it or not it is and was accrpted by the Crown as a separate event and Championship from K A&S. As a Kingdom Championship it deserves to not have conflicts and be supported by the people of An Tir. If you wish not to go that is your prerogative as a person but to say we don't believe in it. Or we are not part of it so we are going to throw our own party that weekend is not acceptable in my oopinion. I have heard and seen so many cranky pants about this subject.
I admit I do not know 100% the full details but I do know KBC is a crown event. I know the Crown said no conflicts. I know Crowns word is law.

This will probably sound worse then it is. I am just trying to give updated facts.
I talked with Breanna "bree" at lunch today and she had to go back to Childrens Hospital yesterday. She has been having Migranes for about a week now. They told her to lie flat for 3 days and they did not go away they actualy got worse now she has them lying down and standing up.
She has a spinal fluid leak in her back which is causing presure loss in her head. she is to lay in bed for 1 full week so it will heal up. They said it is like a cut on a finger joint if you keep bending it it will never heal.
She still has almost no sensory feeling from the waist down and has to use a walker and Left leg brace to move around.
She is in high spirits though which is amazing because I would be going nuts and become MR McCrankky..

Mom first. She is doing much better. one of her main arteries from her heart to both her Femeral arteries was replaced 3 weeks ago. Her right hip/groin/leg area was red and inflamed so the dr gave her some anti-biotics and sent her home. She crashed really hard and had to be ambulanced back to hospital. Long story short they ended up cutting out about 10 inches of the new right femeral artierie and going thru her hip and re plumbing a new one. She is weak from both surgeries but doing well. they expect her to spend 2 weeks in a nursing/rehab facility starting end of this week or early next week when they are sure the infection is gone.
Bree. Tired. She was born with a form of Spina Bifida were it is closed but fatty tissues are tethered to her spinal colom and as she grows it streaches with her. Unfortunatly this creates scar tissue wich then does not streach. They scraped and got allot out but said they had to be very agressive. Going in she had full motor function but sensory loss in her right foot and along the outside of her right leg. Coming out of Surgery she has full motor function but Sensory loss from the waist down. They are saying in 2 or 3 weeks when nerves calm down and such most of that should return but she will probably always have the loss in the right foot and leg.
She was miserable for the first 3 days because she had to lay on her side or her side and every 2 hrs she had to roll over. She would just get the pain under controll and doze off and they would be in to have her roll over again and spike the pain back up. During the Surgery they were unable to close her back with her own dura? sp. They had to use sythetic? artifical? something else as patches to secure around her spinal cord. As the Dr said it was hamberger in there. The next couple days she is working on sitting up and being able to walk.

What a great weekend at Autum War. So many ups it was definatly worth going to. Brighid was amazing in armor again and so totaly getting more comfortable.
During one woods battle we were holding a line between some trees and she was picking St Ulric apart. I look on our right flank and Duke Amleric is doing the duke thing and stoping 2 pikes while picking off our shields. each time our pikes strike he opens up a wee bit to block and then closes right back up. Mind you this all happens in about 6 seconds. the 3rd time I see the pattern of him open up I say to brighid. honey watch Duke and about that time her arrows is in the air before he opens up and she hits him square in the face. She timed it perfectly prior to me telling her. She had 3 or 4 different war bands praising her abilities "on the war field" but the biggest one came as we were packing up to leave.
We were mostly packed and she was sporting her nice bruise on her shoulder and someone said something about ZENA. I said honey you are way better then zena she is a make beleive Princess and this group of about 15 young fighters in the camp next to us all start chearing and clapping saying.
BRIGHID IS A REAL WARRIOR PRINCESS.
it makes me cry.

Is wonderful. I stop often and wonder what I did to deserve such a loving, caring, wonderful and intelegent partner.
We went up to Druim Doineum this weekend to Hot Summer Lights. We had a blast. We did the Archery Walk thru a couple times and she totaly kicked my butt. We did the Thrown Weapons walk thru with a couple friends and again she so enjoyed herself we could not help but have a good time as well. She hosted a Kube tournament and it was one of the highlights of the event. She won the impromptu Bardic competiton.
Smiles to my face, Joy to my heart, May we never be apart.

We have a very wonderful, capable, Baronial Marshal. This posistion is in charge of 7 or 9 different aspects of the Barony.
usualy they are the heavy Marshal and they have deputies
Rapier
Archery
Thrown Weapons
Equestrian
lists
waterbearing
Youth combat
etc.
Our current marshal has taken the posistion very seriously and thusly we are a thriving comunity in the marshal fields. Problem is he steps down in 2 months at our Last Chance event.
No deputy has steped forward. We have many people in all aspects of the Marshalete having a great time. Between marshalete and A&S these are the two keys to Dragons Laire. I have seriously considered stepping down as Baron to take over the Marshelete as I beleive it is that important of a posistion in our comunity.
I have not strong armed anyone nor have I talked to anyone as I beleive the posistion needs to be done out of love and activity and if I talk someone into doing it they will do it as a favor to me not out of love and devotion to the posistion.
So this is my rambelings this morning which I am not prone to do often. I will mull over this and talk to Brighid, Arontious, Oliver our current marshal and a few others. We are planning a get together with the Peers in our Barony in the next week or two and we will defintly discuss this.
